What a day! We'd be hoping for a nice day since arrival and today was the day. With all three helicopters up and about flying up and down the island servicing the field huts with their annual supplies as well and collecting the rubbish, replacing emergency caches and inserting a few field teams it was certainly a busy day for our aircrew and aviation ground teams. As always the trusty watercraft team kept the cargo going and we sent the Deputy Voyage Leader and ship's chief mate ashore to inspect the cargo we'll take home to Australia which we can now begin loading. The days are short this time of year so as quickly as it all started this morning, by 1400hrs we sent out the call to start packing up and flying everyone back to the ship so we can be packed up when the sun sets at 1530hrs.
