We expect today will be our last full day of sailing on the open ocean. Preparations continue in earnest for our anticipated return to Hobart tomorrow afternoon, which will see us berth alongside Macquarie 2/3 wharf Hobart at 1715hrs on Sunday 27 March 2022. Expeditioners have been busy sanitising equipment and clothing that has spent the better part of the last year in the wet and muddy surrounds of Macquarie Island. Cabins are being cleaned and bags packed. In the deck 9 conference room debriefing sessions continued between workgroup supervisors and ship & voyage management with many sound reflections and lessons learnt from the preceding weeks of operations.

This evening the theatre will host a presentation to crew and expeditioners of 'King Neptune' certificates marking our passage across the 60th latitude on the Nuyina. Following this, an auction will be held for a collection of home made trinkets, glassware, framed photographs and ornaments amongst an assortment of other prized artefacts from the voyage and Macquarie Island with all proceeds going to charity. We will then be treated to a series of showreels of voyage highlights from our resident documentary film team.

Regards,

James and Brendan.
