Comments

Station refuelling operations concluded early afternoon yesterday. Overnight tallies suggest a grand total of 203,000lts of fuel were safely transferred into the station's tanks. Enough to last them through the year. By late afternoon the fuel hose was recovered and back aboard the vessel. Once their role in pack up was complete, the IRB crews undertook some shore to station passenger transfers and then headed home for a well deserved rest. As mentioned in yesterday's sitrep, the refuelling operation was a very smooth, safe, and efficient affair. The refuel team including refuel supervisor Jeff, and Rob are to be congratulated. Equally, our thanks to the ship's crew incl. Chief Engineer John, the mechanical team at Macquarie Island and at Kingston, our watercraft operators and all those ashore and on the water who fulfilled their rostered duties to the letter.

Today, overcast conditions returned. Helicopters conducted further down island project flights along with the transfer by sling load of cargo from the aft deck of the ship to station. Our crews aboard the LARCs, ship's deck crews and station cargo personnel, along with the island team completing biosecurity checks, processed another very solid day of inbound cargo. Another smooth day of resupply operations at Macca. Our thanks to all involved.

Happy St Patrick's Day from the other emerald isle.
