Last night, expeditioners and crew gathered in the ship's theatre for a presentation by Briege of the White Sparks Pictures (WSP) team currently aboard the vessel. WSP is an independent production company that produces world-class television and virtual reality documentaries and productions that deliver to audiences meaningful and engaging stories. Their productions have appeared on broadcast platforms including National Geographic, History Channel, Discovery and Netflix. Their virtual reality (VR) title 'The Antarctica Experience' (featuring expeditioners at Davis station) is Australia's most successful VR project to date. Briege and her colleagues, Benn, Michael and Jess, ably supported by AAD Media representative Sachie are round tripping on V5 to film a 360 degree tour of the ship using specialised VR cameras. In addition, they are capturing significant milestones on this voyage for potential inclusion in a planned feature length documentary about the RSV Nuyina. The audience was introduced to the WSP team, their impressive array of cameras, and a series of previews and excerpts from the team's previous and current projects.

Once vacant slots on the 'Ice Berg Sweep' are quickly filling up, as is the sweep's bucket with 50% of the intended winnings being designated for a good cause. Practice table-tennis rallies are gradually being replaced by formal rounds of competition, the proximity of immoveable furniture and the roll of the ship on a moderate swell adding some unique obstacles to the tournament.

Resupply planning sessions are progressing well between ship and voyage managers as we work to harmonise AAD procedures with that of SERCO, the vessel's operator. The buoy's previously mentioned in yesterday's sitrep continue to be thrown overboard at regular intervals day and night, by our reliable team of watercraft operators, with encouraging news from Kingston of a strong signal and emerging data set.

James & Brendan
