After passing to the north of the Shackleton ice shelf overnight, we are forging ahead towards Prydz Bay under snow-grey skies. There are more icebergs about today, accompanied by flotillas of smaller bergy bits. The larger bergs are now sufficient in number as to require occasional slight course adjustments to avoid them which must be a novelty to the officer of the watch.
Preparations for our delivery of helicopters to Davis are underway with everyone conscious that's the first time we have conducted helicopter operations from this vessel such a long way from home. There is lots to think about.
