Resupply Day 4 -Yesterday began well with the commencement of refuelling the station and what turned into a cracker of a day weather wise. By early afternoon the unusually light katabatic wind had dropped out and a still afternoon and (relatively) warm evening followed. Pumping the Special Antarctic Blend (SAB) diesel fuel to power the station was completed by just after midnight, with a total of 604,000ish (depending on the ambient temperature) litres delivered.
Today's start was delayed by an increased wind strength of over 35 knots on the gust. Cargo operations has recommenced and progress thus far is good. The S76 helicopter will undertake a number of taskings this afternoon including an inspection of the Rumdoodle landing area and some area familiarisation work. Last night in the clear and cold conditions the aurora australis or 'southern lights' were working brilliantly, causing several personnel to stay up past their bedtime to observe.
