Scientists and support staff occupy Mawson, Davis and Casey stations year-round. Wilkins Aerodrome is staffed seasonally, serving as the Antarctic terminal for intercontinental flights each summer. 

The Antarctic Division manages other significant areas in the sub-Antarctic, such as Macquarie Island station which operates year-round and Heard Island and McDonald Islands.
