We experienced 8-9 metre seas last night, resulting in a few tired eyes this morning. Conditions have eased considerably and we now have a gentle 5 metre roll.
Planning for the Mawson refuel continued today with the Refuelling Supervisor and Watercraft Coordinator. The finer details are being teased out and, as always, when one questioned is answered another seems to arise. This is all part of the process and makes for a well-thought-out operation.
While refuelling is important, however, extensive time and thought has been given to the big event of the week; the AIVIQ Grand Prix. Tomorrow night is the first of three editions. A figure-of-eight course will be set up in the Main Lounge and two teams (red and green) will battle it out to see who can complete three laps in the fastest time. It should be an exciting night.
Day 5 PCR testing is progressing well. All tests have been collected and so far we only have negative results. We will update tomorrow with the final result.
