Comments

Sunday is generally a quiet day on the ship. The AIVIQ crew are assigned only light duties and the AAD expeditioners are taking it easy. Breakfast was a reasonably quiet affair this morning, but it was packed for lunch and the berry cheesecake disappeared quickly.

The one and only Jigsaw has been restarted! By the time we get to Mawson we will have it completed in record time.

The Deck of Cards workout continued today despite slightly bigger seas. Ring Leader (and Refuelling Supervisor) Jeff's favourite exercise is 'the Worm'; a nasty movement that requires you to reach to the sky, touch your toes, walk your hands out into a plank, do a push up, walk your hands back, reach to the sky, repeat.

Watercraft Operator Nadia has been putting together some handy documents for the IRBs (Inflatable Rubber Boats). These include crew familiarisation and pre-start checklists.

Deputy Voyage Leader Anthony and science lead Maddie are putting together a science brief which they will deliver next week. This will outline the five science projects we have on board and how people can get involved.

Tomorrow is Day 5, which means mass PCR testing. Our two doctors will be in the ship's hospital from 0600 and everyone must filter through by lunchtime. If all 56 tests are negative we can remove our masks and return to normal.

REGARDS: Sam and Anthony
