Yesterday was a good day of cargo operations. We discharged 60.9% of the cargo on the ship bound for Mawson. This was a great team effort particularly as the winter teams on station are also doing handovers – the 75th ANARE handing over to the 76th ANARE so that they are prepared for their next 12 months at Mawson.
It sounds simple on the surface that we arrive and start moving cargo but there are a lot of things going on at station so fitting all tasks in together requires good organisational skills. Throw in the mix another vessel – Aiviq that also adds complexity but everyone is working really well together to ensure that the resupply flows and all other task are being completed.
This morning we have recommenced discharging cargo.
Cheers
