Comments

The wind increased further yesterday and was blowing over 60 knots (110kph) for most of the afternoon and overnight. Our Comms Tech had an automatic weather station that he had mounted on the deck above the bridge that had been providing information for us. It stopped working but had recorded a 116kph wind gust before hand. Now the wind has decreased (40 knots) it has started working again.

We are having another rest day today due the weather as mentioned above. As the day goes on it is becoming brighter than yesterday due to less cloud and more blue sky appearing.

I had it on good authority that there are 7 elephant seals on the beach at Davis. I checked it out and there are indeed 7 seals, this is the most we have seen during resupply. One came out of the water near the wharf and is making it's way along the beach toward the seals at the other end. It is making life hard for itself as seals only move a couple of body lengths at a time before needing a rest.

Cheers
Leanne and Jacob
