We are now on Davis time zone; 4 hours behind Hobart time.
We are continuing preparations for our arrival at Davis to undertake the resupply. We received Version 1 of the RTA (return to Australia) manifest and the Deputy Voyage Leader is working on the stow plan in conjunction with the Captain and Chief Officer. Considerations in developing the stow plan include how the RTA cargo can be stowed on the ship safely and efficiently ensuring that dangerous goods are separated according to their class of DG, reefers are in a powered 'slot' to enable them to maintain their prescribed temperatures (-18 degrees and +4 degrees) and sufficient room for non-containerised cargo to be safely lashed down so it does not move in transit.
All personnel on board (expeditioners and crew) participated in safety drills this morning. Both drills went well with a debrief afterwards. Our doctor showed us a confined spaces stretcher with one of the crew getting into it to demonstrate it's use. Drills are exceptionally important safety tasks; practice helps instill where to go and what to do if an incident does occur.
Cheers
