Cargo operations continued this morning with both cargo being discharged from the ship and some return to Australia cargo loaded to the ship.
It sounds simple but there can be a fine balance to what we can do when. For example we have to load a certain amount containers onto the ship to free up space on station. This allows more cargo to be discharged from the ship to go into this space. Sometimes cargo operations are a like a choreographed dance. We are currently in one of those situations.
Conditions have been excellent for cargo transfer over the last couple of days but in the last hour the snow has started to fall quite heavily. Visibility has reduced a beautiful covering of snow is falling over the cargo on deck and the watercraft tied up next to the ship.
Cheers,
