Comments

When we woke this morning the Aiviq had headed back to Hobart. We wish them a safe transit home.

It has been a spectacular day at Casey. The ship was covered in snow this morning but as the day progressed the sun appeared. The watercraft operators and crew set up the watercraft ready for action. We are carrying a barge called the Peter Gormley, two workboats; Ox and Bull and four single pontoons.

This afternoon the station leader and key members of the shore side resupply team came to the ship where we had a very productive meeting to finalise resupply arrangements. Whilst this meeting occurred the ship's crew and watercraft operators joined the pontoons together to create two pairs of pontoons. One pair will be connected to Ox and one connected to Bull, loaded with cargo and used to transfer cargo between the ship and shore. This allows us flexibility in the transfer of cargo; either use the barge and one set of pontoons or use two sets of pontoons.

Just a reminder; Casey looks stunning this evening.

Cheers,
Leanne and Jacob
