The weather has settled down in the Southern Ocean so we will leave the nice sheltered water of the River Derwent and head to Casey this afternoon. Final preparations are complete and cabin contents secured.
We are all looking forward to departing and delivering 1,286 tonnes of cargo to Casey, 535 tonnes of cargo to Davis then 186 tonnes of cargo to Mawson. These are crucial supplies to maintain the stations for next 12 months. The fuel for the stations has either been delivered or will be delivered by MPOV Aiviq. We have some pretty big items of equipment to deliver, mainly to Casey including four Quad Tractors, two dozers and a crane. We will not only deliver supplies but will also bring home equipment, rubbish and items no longer required at station.
It has been a long time since the last resupply of all three stations in one voyage so it will be nice to be part of a select group who have had a privilege of doing so.
Cheers,
Leanne and Jacob
