After several delays in our departure from Hobart we left the wharf yesterday at 0855. It was then a short trip down the Derwent River to our anchorage point. Due to a significant weather event occurring in the Southern Ocean that would make headway and life on board very uncomfortable we are staying at anchor until the system subsides.
It has been a challenge to get this voyage underway and thanks to the many people who have contributed to working through numerous complexities to enable our departure. Everyone's dedication to the task to set up our voyage is greatly appreciated and the work this has taken cannot be underestimated. Particular thanks to the AAD Shipping and Supply Chain teams, the crew of the Happy Diamond and numerous agencies and organisations who have all worked together to enable us to leave port.
Merry Christmas to everyone and a safe and prosperous new year.
Cheers,
Leanne and Jacob
