It has been a quiet day for most members on board AIVIQ. The seas remain calm with a gentle 2-3m swell. 2-3m is big enough to make you walk sideways down the halls but not that big that you need to be constantly holding on.
The Vessel Master continues to deny the VL's requests to experience 8-10m seas and as a result we continue to push to avoid a low pressure system approaching from the west. With the slight increase in speed it looks as though we will miss the worst of the system with seas not expected to get much over 5m.
With no more activities to plan for, the majority of the team spend their days reading, socialising, sitting on the bridge and playing board games or cards. DVL Trent and Cam joined in 500 last night and were on opposing teams. I won't say who was on the winning team but I can say it was not Trent.
While most of the team can relax, the DVL and VL are kept busy preparing for return to Hobart. The DVL is busy with load manifests and stocktakes, while the VL has been almost completely focused on preparing the VL Report.

Trent and Cam
