Last 24hrs - Crew and expeditioners completed the first muster drill which is required to occur within 24 hours of departing port. The muster drill required all personnel on board the ship to report the muster station. As part of this drill personnel must be ready to abandon ship which requires coordination and attention to detail.

All expeditioners on Voyage 4 are required to ensure their muster station lockers are uniformed in what they contain. All lockers include immersion suits, life jackets, ships emergency bags and AAD issued survival bags. Although all of this equipment may not be required, having all emergency equipment located in one area reduces time required to abandon ship or respond to an emergency. It also allows personnel to move directly to muster stations without the need to go to via their cabin to collect potentially lifesaving equipment. Finally, it prevents personnel from needing to carry large awkward items through corridors and up stairs while panic is setting in.

All expeditioners were afforded the opportunity to "strap-in" to lifeboats and don immersions suits. While both immersion suits and lifeboats greatly increase your chance of survival, neither are comfortable or easy to get into.

Today also saw the first group physical training (PT) session run on the 02 Muster Deck. 'Deck of Cards' was run by our refueling supervisor and attendance was good.

Favourable weather conditions have allowed AIVIQ to comfortably cruise averaging around 9.5 kn/h. It has had the added benefit of reducing the number of sick passengers with only two members feeling under the weather today.

Operationally the main effort for VM remains planning for the fuel resupply of Casey while our doctors commence preparations for D+2 COVID testing commencing at 0600hrs tomorrow morning.

Wish us luck as we strive towards AIVIQ COVID ZERO and a green ship.

Regards,

Cam and Trent
