Comments

Today we cross the Antarctic Convergence. This invisible line is a rich feeding zone for all types of marine life and we are hoping for a full wildlife show. AIVIQ's 360-degree bridge is the perfect viewing platform and we are expecting nothing less than breaching whales, large flocks of birds, and maybe even a jumping dolphin. So far, we have seen nothing. The wind is gusting 40kts and we are surrounded by low-lying cloud, limiting our chance of spotting those hungry whales. A few of us remain on the bridge, but the rest are keeping busy elsewhere. The daily 'deck of cards' workout went ahead at 10.30am, although two of the core crew were missing after receiving their COVID booster shots earlier this morning. Tonight, we will all pack into the Main Lounge to hear one of our expeditioners tell the story of their kayaking odyssey around Australia. It will undoubtedly give rise to feelings of gratitude for our big blue ship and luxurious passage across the Southern Ocean.
