With the wind and wave direction shifting more to the north, there has been a noticeable change to the movement of the ship. Expeditioners new to Southern Ocean travel are learning the hard way when it comes to meal times. A swift hand is essential for maintaining control of cutlery and plates as they slide across the table with the roll of the ship. Today, the hand was not so swift and the Korean BBQ beef found itself onto the mess floor, with a smattering of peas rolling around it for good measure. All peas were contained and lunch take two was a more successful affair. Waves are expected to increase throughout the day and into tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how many make it to dinner, let alone have their wits about them for keeping their food from the floor.
