The ocean is a different colour out here, or so it seems. More blue, deeper blue, brighter blue. Although I think it would be fair to say that not too many people aboard have spent much time gazing at the deep blue. Instead, time in bed with the gentle rock of the ocean has been the preferred way to pass the day. Some only emerging for meals before retreating again. And rightly so, as the meals are not to be missed. We are being incredibly well catered for, with a range of tasty dishes to choose from at each meal and a well-appointed salad bar. Throw in some freshly baked cookies for morning tea, the ice cream fridge (available at any time) and the pavlovas last night for Jeff's birthday and we will be well protected from the Antarctic cold by the time we reach Davis. Tonight, we change the clocks back one hour, a reminder of the direction we're heading out here in the infinite deep blue.
