Comments

After making sure all was stowed for sea, we departed Macquarie Island last night, on what the team says was one of the nicest days in 6 months. We were even escorted out by a raft of penguins.

As Macca faded from our view, we turned our mind towards Hobart and what needed to be done. The ship conducted the mandatory safety brief and abandon ship drill as a double check of our gear stowage was completed. The AIVIQ also held a crew safety meeting, with the chief mate as chair which provided a perfect opportunity for some well-deserved AAD gifts to be given out.

Even though the weather has turned a bit rough, the chefs have continued to impress with today's special Mexican theme lunch, a real culinary feast.

REGARDS: Christine & Jacob
