We have arrived at our anchorage position in Hobart. There is a flurry of packing up of equipment and supplies that are part and parcel of running a voyage – printers, computer monitors, COVID supplies, stationery, games and 'sticky mat' (which helps to keep things from sliding off surfaces during rougher weather).

We also had an auction this afternoon with the proceeds going to charity. On offer were two hand knitted beanies with scenes from Mawson – expeditioners walking on ice to Berchervaise Island and a moonrise over Mount Henderson. There was also two paintings done by a Mawson expeditioner's mum – seagulls and penguins. The last item was a full sized ice axe made from scratch by a Mawson expeditioner. Thanks to Hadley, Penny and Dane for your contributions. A number of Mawson drink cosies were also donated that were very popular – thanks Tim. A total of $5,040 was raised going to the Cancer Council, Queensland Branch. Others on board have also kindly donated to this worthwhile cause.

This is the last sitrep for Voyage 6. Matt and I wish to express our appreciation to the Aiviq crew, Mawson expeditioners (southbound and northbound) and the AAD teams (particularly Shipping and Supply Chain) in Hobart as well as the Bureau of Meteorology that work so hard to give the voyage the best chance of success. We achieved all of the objectives of the voyage which is always a great feeling and we understand that without the help and support of all of the above teams this success is more difficult to achieve. Thanks again to all and fair winds to all who are travelling onwards, whether home, holidays or back to work.

Cheers
Leanne & Matt
