As we do not have any cargo on the Aiviq our Deputy Voyage Leader spent the day on the Happy Dragon assisting their DVL and learning the ropes of ship to shore cargo operations. He also went ashore to Davis this morning to have a look at the shore side resupply operation. Having an overview off all facets of a station resupply helps with understanding how all of the jigsaw pieces go together and if the jigsaw is upended you are in a good place to put it back together even if it shows a slightly different picture.
A team went ashore yesterday to assist with the movement of large plant (cranes, trucks) and also a resupply team to stay ashore until we depart later today.
The Aiviq and Happy Dragon look good in Prydz Bay side by side. There were a number of awesome photos taken of the sunset last night. It was bright red and yellow and the Happy Dragon look amazing with the sunset behind it.
We are looking forward to our people returning to the ship this afternoon which includes three new faces from Davis who will travel home with us. We will then depart Davis and head home this evening.
Thank you Dani and your team and we wish you a safe and successful year.
Cheers
Leanne & Matt
