Comments

Yesterday was a good day for refuelling. There were no katabatic winds but still a breeze that can still make it unpleasant when out in the elements as is the case for refuelling. There are a number of locations that teams of two are stationed. On the back deck of the ship, at the shore point, on the tanks and in the watercraft. Measurements (dips) are taken every 15 minutes and recorded by the deck monitors and the Refuelling Supervisor on the bridge. From this a running tally of how much has been pumped ashore.

We anticipate that it will take us around 3 hours to finish pumping the remainder of fuel ashore, then pack up. We have sent ashore two of our personnel that are doing the round trip to assist on station to free up the Mawson personnel to complete handovers and finish handovers. More will go ashore after refuelling operations are complete.

We are sitting in the harbour with a beautiful view of Mawson as we oversee the refuelling operations and to our starboard (right) on the other side of West Arm, in Kista Strait is the Happy Dragon. They are waiting patiently for us to complete our operation so they can undertake final cargo operations.

Cheers
Leanne & Matt
