We woke up to a very foggy day. This unfortunately prevented calling a winner in the iceberg competition. There were two icebergs this morning but they were 6 and 7 miles away and could not be seen by the naked eye which is a key component of the winning guess. With any luck the skies will clear and we will see more icebergs soon and can declare a winner.
In the time of gathering the above information for the sitrep we have passed 60 degrees south. This is pretty exciting as usually around this time we receive a visitor from the deep who controls these waters and approves passage through his kingdom.
Last night a quiz night was held and even though scores varied greatly depending on the category, the overall scores of the five teams was close at the end. The Voyage Leader was a member of the winning team separated by one point from the second team who had the Deputy Voyage Leader as a member. No there were no shenanigans in the scoring – all I can say is that our sports round was great.
Clocks turned back one more hour last night. We are now at UTC +7 and four hours behind Hobart and 2 hours ahead of Mawson.
Cheers
