The night before last there was a sensational green Aurora Australis. Some of us unfortunately did not see it but the photos were pretty amazing. Auroras are not always easy to capture without some photographic skill unless like me it is a fluke. This aurora was green and by all accounts appeared and disappeared almost as quickly. You definitely need to be in the right place at the right time with the right equipment to capture the shot, a bit like seeing whales. You blink and they are gone and you are left wondering if you actually saw a whale or if you wished it into being there.
Excitement is building as the final episode of season two of the British reality television show The Great Pottery Throwdown is scheduled to be shown in the Main Lounge today. It started with two people chatting about it and has grown into a cannot miss event each afternoon at 2pm. Contestants on the show are given challenges and one person is sent home each week. It is a bit like Masterchef but with ceramics and clay.
Cheers
