Comments

So far the seas of the Southern Ocean are being kind to us as we continue to make our way to Mawson station in a south west direction from Tasmania. It would be nice if the seas remained like this all the way to Mawson but having travelled this Ocean on a number of occasions it is unlikely so we will enjoy it while it lasts.

Yesterday an emergency muster drill was run for all on board. These drills are an integral part of safety on board as they are in any workplace. They are conducted regularly to ensure we all know where our assembly point is, how to get there (as we are new to the vessel) and what we need to take with us if there is an incident.

A pod of orcas casually made their way past us this morning and as with most whale sightings once you hear the call they are way off in the distance or nowhere to be found.

Cheers
Leanne & Matt
