Seeing the sunrise is always a magical start to the day, but seeing the sunrise over a horizon of icebergs as they reflect the orange beams of the sun across the freshly frozen seas around us is about as magical as it gets. But we didn't come here to look at the scenery and by 0800h we were back into cargo operations with the barges running back and forth to Davis as we use the full capability of the ship to concurrently discharge cargo and return RTA into the multiple holds of the ship using two out of three cranes. With the still seas and freezing temperatures, the sea-ice is growing and this morning we explained to the Dutch Captain the Australian term for driving around in circles to break-up the ice would be referred to as "doing doughies".
