Yesterday we completed all discharge cargo for Mawson station and begun the process of receiving the 'Return to Australia' or RTA cargo on yet another sunny but windy Mawson day. With only the outgoing winter team ashore at Mawson while we wait for the Aiviq to arrive with the new team, those of us not driving boats went ashore to help unload the frozen goods into the station's freezers. It's a time-honored resupply tradition to form human chains and make witty remarks about the produce as you gain a visual understanding of what a year's worth of potatoes and onions looks like. There was a surprising amount of frozen cauliflower as well which we stored in front of the more delicious options. As always, 'no ice cream until you eat your veggies', bon appetite!
