Comments

Sailing almost due west as we skirt around the Antarctic coastline, just in range of the northern most icebergs, we can start to dream about what our arrival at Mawson may look like. Will the weather be favorable on arrival? Is the sea ice clear enough for un easy run through "Iceberg Alley"? These are some of the unknowns we cannot be sure of until the day is upon us. What we can do is plan. Breakfast meetings to discuss the numerous options for watercraft rosters and bridge meetings looking at ice charts and maps of where best to moor the ship fill our days. But the most important meetings have been taking place after dinner to answer the most important questions... "what movie are we watching tonight?". As our comms tech, Will, stands up the front and takes questions about the long list of obscure but entertaining movies in his collection and we debate the pros and cons of each title. The gym has also seen increased attendance as the smoother seas allow for safer treadmill use and the free weights can be released from the lashing and be free once more.

Dave and Jacob
