Comments

Over the last few week we have remarked a bit about the weather, wildlife, icebergs and of course King Neptune but today we thought we give you a bit of a snapshot of AIVIQ and her crew.

AIVIQ is 100.9 metres long and has a crew of 25. The vessel is normally homeported in Louisiana and although the its the ship's first time to Antarctica, the crew have extensive experience in the US Antarctic program. The amenities onboard are exceptional, with most cabins having two large single beds, with a desk and a small lounge. There is also a well outfitted office and dedicated meeting room. The galley and mess area are spacious and there is several communal lounge areas throughout the vessel to relax in.

The crew have continued to show us warm hospitality since we joined, welcoming us to their temporary home and making sure we always have everything we need. It has been a real pleasure to be onboard AIVIQ and we plan to enjoy our last few days onboard before we arrive back into Hobart.

Regards

Christine and Bloo
