The last leg of what is perhaps both the largest and longest resupply operation ever undertaken at Casey station. Perhaps. We mold the truth as we need. And really, the voyage is not so much about the how much or the how long, but simply just the how. We take a bunch of diverse, skilled, adventurous sorts and gather them at station and on a ship and them bring them together for a common purpose. Because of these people the operation is executed with finesse, skill, efficncy and good humor. And this is what matters, that despite the unprecedented ice conditions in Newcombe Bay, and winds strong enough to be worthy of a name (if they occurred in any other ocean), we arrive home with a sense of satisfaction that comes with a job done well. We can not thank enough all involved in making the voyage a success, and especially the welcoming, reliable, indefatigable crew of the Happy Dragon, who approached the voyage in the true spirit of Antarctic operations, with open minds, a sense of adventure and a sense of fun.
