Waking to moderate southeasterly winds and ice gathering speed on its way out to sea, a buzz of excitement passed through those on the Happy Dragon. While the New Year celebratory roast pig was being turned on the rear deck, plans were made for an afternoon of cargo operations. With bellies full of crayfish, roast pork, pavlova and some special Dutch desserts, the team sent the first load to station, truly marking the beginning of resupply here at Casey.
