Comments

We came, we saw, and then we left again.
Christmas afternoon we proudly steamed into Newcombe Bay, the Casey Station team perched on Reeve Hill and out the front to the Red Shed to welcome us. The brief stop in the bay allowed us to get our resupply watercraft on the water for a trial run and a familiarisation of the Casey area. It was also an opportunity for some of the station resupply team to come out and the ship to meet the Happy Dragon crew and take a tour of the ship. Operations for the day complete, we hastily hightailed it out to sea in anticipation of strong winds. This morning, at 6am, with calm seas and light winds, doubts rippled through the team aboard the Happy Dragon, but by 7am the Casey meteorological forecasters were vindicated as the winds rapidly increased. While we may have arrived in time for Christmas, the delivery and unwrapping of the presents will have to wait for another day.

REGARDS: Anthea and Misty.
