Comments

This morning the seas had abated. A nice change from yesterday's uncomfortable seas. There was much excitement on the ship and station as we arrived late this morning and Macquarie Island and commenced locating a great place to anchor the ship in Buckles Bay.

It is a beautiful day at Macca with the king penguins coming to greet the ship and to work out what we are doing. They are quite inquisitive of the new arrivals.

We have now sent ashore all wintering Macquarie Island expeditioners, watercraft operators and one Supply Services Officer and our next job is to discharge priority cargo that is required on station as soon as possible. This includes COVID-19 supplies so that the station can set up areas to enable all personnel coming ashore and those ashore to remain safe in a COVID-19 environment.

REGARDS: Leanne and Anthea
