Another restful night was had by all on board the MPV Everest as we continued to inch our way closer to Fremantle. Earlier in the evening the ship's doctor gave an inspiring presentation on her Trans Euro Asia Four Wheel Drive Expedition. During this we also learnt that she was the first female doctor in the Offshore Oil and Gas industry, she certainly is an inspirational person and has lived an adventurous life! Tonight will be the last of the series of the Voyage 2 talks and will take us to Peru and Machu Picchu. A big thank you to all you have shared their stories and to our resident Bird Whisperer for organising the series.
Today the steel blue coloured waves continue to roll on by. The increased air temperature means a walk outside on the deck no longer requires jackets with layers underneath with some now sporting shorts. Many are taking the opportunity to get a breath of fresh air outside in between packing their bags and preparing cabins for our arrival into Fremantle sometime tomorrow afternoon. Final planning for our arrival continues between Voyage Management and our Kingston counterparts which include the Shipping Team who are in Fremantle. This afternoon expeditioners returned their returnable kitting to the Deputy Voyage Leader who along with helpers packed it away ready for transport back to Kingston.
As this Sitrep is being written the vessel GO Spica can be seen on the horizon some 6 nautical miles north of us. This ship will provide an escort for us as we enter into our last 24 hours of transit before we arrive and disembark in Fremantle. Our ETA into Fremantle is 1900hrs alongside and we anticipate we will commence disembarking the vessel at 2000hrs.
