The quietness of the corridors continues on board as expeditioners become accustomed to the now gentle roll of the ship. Many are taking the time to catch up on rest, watch a movie or two or complete their end of season reports. Some brave souls take the opportunity to venture outside combining fresh air with exercise, clambering up and down this various levels on the ship. Even in the somewhat stronger winds you can find these expeditioners outside doing laps of the ship.
The evening presentations continue to be a hit with seats in the cinema being a premium, even those who arrive on time are sometimes relegated to the floor. Last night a fascinating presentation was given by one of the helicopter pilots on their involvement in the Lord Howe Island rat eradication program. The combination of aerial, grid and hand baiting has successfully removed the rats from this small island off the east coast of Australia.
In the early hours of this morning we advanced our clocks an hour, signifying we are inching ever so slightly towards Hobart.
