Comments

Sun shine on the Southern Ocean greeted the crew and our Deputy Voyage Leader early this morning as they successfully deployed the second Argo float. It soared down from the ship and landed gently on the water, bobbing around before it disappeared in the distance as we continued on our way.

After a rather lumpy night on board the quietness on the decks below remains as the vessel continues to cut its way through the swell. Some expeditioners and crew stated that they had broken sleep as things went bump in the night while others stated they "slept like the Rock of Gibraltar".

Briefings and planning for on board training are well and truly underway with the Voyage calendar starting to fill up. This morning an overview of the intricacies of Davis and Mawson resupplies was given to the Everest Crew by the Voyage Leader showing the conditions that we may encounter at both stations. The first of the expeditioner briefings will kick off in the coming week, coinciding with the forecast calmer weather.

REGARDS: Andy, Jenn and Lauren
