Today the ship is sailing once again beneath a blanket of low lying cloud on an increasing swell. A passing low pressure system is expected to provide us with waves of up to 7 metres overnight, sending some of our contingent back to their cabins to double check their stow and supplies of non-slip matting.
On a completely unrelated topic, after lunch today a safety review was conducted by ship's crew involving follow up instruction on the various handheld marine distress / signalling flares and beacons the ship carries for emergency scenarios. The safety briefing concluded after a review of the ship's lifeboat and liferaft procedures on a wind and rainswept deck above a turbulent grey blue ocean.
Regards,
James, Jenn and Andy.
