Comments

Well it's a little bit challenging to type this one as even the sticky mat is rolling off the desk and all the paperwork has already hit the deck. The keyboard is sliding and the mouse has skittled off somewhere else.

Yesterday afternoon was an amazing concentrated effort of our crew and expeditioners that saw us successfully complete refuelling, return everyone to vessel and get the LARC and IRB onboard before departing the island at about 2000. It was an extremely busy afternoon of juggling priorities but as people concentrate on each task and stepped through our procedures we had soon ticked off the final tasks for the voyage and were able to farewell Macquarie Island. We'd like to thank Finn, Ivor and their teams for their assistance throughout the Resupply. We wish the Macquarie Island 2020 team all the best for a fabulous season, and look forward to delivering the outgoing team to their family and friends on Wednesday morning in Hobart.

Onboard today we've all been pretty quiet apart from an emergency muster drill this morning which got us all out in the fresh air. The the voyage support team and returning expeditioners are now enjoying some very well earned rest before we commence preparations and clean up ready for our arrival. Well as much rest as can be had on a rolling ship that feels like it's hitting concrete speed humps.

Cheers, Nicki and Chris.
