Monster clocks! This is the name given to winding the clocks forwards 4 hours in one hit. 1400 became 1800. Some people like it (its not different to flying to NZ or Perth to Brisbane) but other people hate it. After all you have lunch and an hour or so later it's time for dinner! The next day it's still pitch black at 0800! Irrespective; we are now on Tasmanian time.
This morning we started to get all of the auction items out for the annual ships fundraiser. This usually occurs on the last continental voyage. Many of the winterers and summerers and ships crew craft great items to sell at the auction. Proceeds go to Camp Quality, a charity the Aurora crew have supported for most of the 30 years of the ships life. One auction item in particular, a scale model of the ship, painstakingly hand crafted from scratch by one of the stations fine tradespeople is expected to raise large sums.
