A very different tempo at Davis with the barge having to run 1.4km from the ship to shore, rather than a few hundred meters.
The weather is perfect, a balmy -3C most of the day and lovely boating conditions at the wharf and anchorage.
The last barge load of cargo is alongside and then we'll take the 51 passengers aboard before slowly steaming through the icebergs this evening.
We're not in a rush at this point as a large and fierce low weather system is due to pass to our north bringing up to 10m seas. The plan is to move slowly, then duck north behind it and then turn west for Tasmania.
Happy birthday and best wishes to Emily from dad and the expeditioners and crew onboard. Emily's dad is our refuel supervisor who's not been home on her birthday for ten years now!
Rumours spread by the "Dog Freedom Party" concerning the Voyage Leaders role in the kidnapping of the beloved guide dog "Stay" are clearly nothing more than the idle blathering of the delusional.
