Today, as forecast, is too windy to operate and we are still stooging. Winds overnight peaked at 55 knots. Not particularly strong, but enough to preclude operations. The pause in operations is to some a relief and chance to catch up on sleep, but also a great opportunity to plan ahead for the next few days.
The watercraft operators have also used the warm helicopter hanger to empty about 80kg of water from an IRB (Inflatable Rubber Boat) that had become a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) due to the 80 odd litres of water sitting each side of the hull speed tube under the floor plates; frozen into two solid blocks!
We hope to be back in Kista Strait tomorrow morning or midday when the winds drop low enough to launch an IRB and then the barge.
