This morning under blue skies, the V2 resupply operation settled into the routine of cargo discharge and RTA (return to Australia) retrieval as two additional IRBs (inflatable rigid boat) took to the water. Crewed by two of our coxswains, these boats conveyed a science project team up the coastline to Ardery Island for a day trip under the coverage of the Aurora acting as their SAR (Search & Rescue) contingency. Also out on the water were two other IRBs, assisting with the retrieval of the ice lines initially deployed for refuelling operations, and to support the watercraft crew changeovers and passengers transfers and tours of the ship by station personnel.

This afternoon the Aurora welcomed a new contingent of expeditioners who will be returning with us to Hobart, with additional expected boarding tomorrow. We welcome them to the ship and look forward to new faces in the mess.

Regards,

James, Anthea & Gemma.
