Comments

Today, under a brilliant blue sky and calm sea, our first full day of cargo operations was completed. The hatch lids are now looking decidedly greener than they were this morning, with over 20 barge runs conveyed to station including a JCB 'Tele-handler', lots of aviation fuel and food for hungry planes and people.

This afternoon, supported by the ship's 'mini-me (the 'AAII'), our watercraft operators together with station personnel deployed a 300mt long 'ice line' between the northernmost reaches of Bailey Rocks and Molholm Island. This ice-line, deployed for the duration of refuel operations will help to keep the area upon which the fuel hose will be floated clear of ice floes which may damage it.

With forecast weather for the next three days supportive of refuelling operations, we will transition from cargo rosters to refuel rosters and with final refuel set up commencing tomorrow morning.

Regards,

James, Anthea & Gemma.
