This morning at approximately 0430hs, the first iceberg of the voyage emerged out of the mist. This same mist has slowed our progress a little, with a revised ETA to our rendezvous with the whale mooring now expected sometime after lunch tomorrow.
Also early this morning as we crossed 59o , ship's crew cast our second MeT buoy overboard, concluding that particular project for this voyage. A little before midday we crossed 60 o, for some onboard, this is their first foray this far South.
Preparatory briefings ramped up today with environmental, watercraft and cargo related toolbox meetings and presentations throughout the day. The same again planned for tomorrow. Supervisory meetings were also conducted by phone between supervisors on the ship and at station to discuss operational planning and arrival day activities.
Tomorrow.. (hopefully), a whale mooring.

James, Anthea & Gemma
