If the sea and air temperature hadn't given us a clue to our proximity to Antarctic conditions, a lone Antarctic Petrel flying about yesterday and even some crested penguins in the water today provide handy hints that we're getting close. That, coupled with reports from some of our "night owls" of aurora australis directly above the RSV Aurora Australis suggests our navigation isn't off by much. No ice in the water yet, but some rime ice from yesterday is still clinging on to the foremast, even in these above 0*C temperatures. A ship's emergency muster drill this morning had us all on the heli deck in full survival gear, getting some fresh air and taking in the sights. Last night we all had a great "Trivia Quiz" in the restaurant on D Deck, with quizmaster Danny P., ably assisted by Peter L., doing a great job with some truly obscure questions coupled with some equally controversial answers. It wouldn't be a quiz night without a debate thrown in!
