Funky shirt Friday out here on the Southern Ocean, and after a slow start a few outrageous shirts started to colour the insides of the vessel. Our first week at sea sees field training wrapping up today, to soon be replaced by other briefings concerning our arrival at Davis towards the end of next week. There's been a hint that we may also receive a visit from the King of the South in the very near future, as we approach his icy realm. Clocks back another hour tonight, to UTC+8. So many sleep ins!
