Yesterday we moved completed cargo to the ship. Only 3 item have been left at Mawson, and then only to make room for higher priority cargo to collect at Davis.
The weather was amazing with almost no wind and not a cloud in sight for much of the day. We took advantage of the conditions to finish some priority bird science 19 miles away on the Rookery Islands.
Once the final passengers were boarded we headed off for Davis.
Normally this would be the last farewell for the wintering party at Mawson but we are transiting to Davis to pick up an essential spare part which we will then transfer back to Mawson. Once that transfer is completed we will return to Davis to pick up the Davis summer expeditioners and essential project cargo.
See you soon Mawson!
Cheers
Andy and Misty
